Beavers gather from 6pm to 7pm on Tuesdays and 6:15pm to 7:15pm Wednesdays, catering to young boys and girls aged 6 to 8. Within this welcoming environment, Beavers foster friendships while engaging in collective learning experiences. Their activities typically involve weekly meetings throughout the term, predominantly held in our hall. However, our agenda is dynamic, occasionally incorporating excursions to nearby attractions like parks, campsites, and activity centers. In addition to these regular gatherings, Beavers also have the chance to participate in district events, including sleepovers, and local camps facilitated by our dedicated leaders.

Beaver Scout Promise
All Beaver Scouts make the promise when they are invested, and renew it yearly (usually during our St George’s Day parade)

Our Lodges
In our Beavers colony, we organize our members into four lodges, each competing weekly for points. These points accumulate over the year, leading up to our annual awards ceremony where the lodge with the highest tally receives recognition. Leading each lodge is a senior Beaver Scout known as the Lodge Leader, supported by an Assistant Lodge Leader. This structure not only encourages teamwork and friendly competition but also provides valuable leadership opportunities for our members

Made From leather stops the scarf falling off (Tie a knot in your scarf if outside so you don’t lose it)
Smart Trouser/Skirt and Shoes
For parades and some other events, we like our Beavers to look smart in school trousers/skirt with a pair of preferably black shoes

Badges
As Beaver Scouts, our young members endeavour to earn several badges, which they proudly display on their uniforms. Serving as a testament to the valuable skills they’ve mastered
We have 3 main types of badges:
Activity Badges
From Animal Friend to Sports, activity badges are earned for taking part in meetings over the term
Staged Activity Badges
Staged activity badges cover skills that you will develop over your time as a Squirrel, Beaver, Cub, and Scout. From Nights Away to Swimming, these badges have a small number on them so you can see your progress
Challenge Badges
Challenge badges are usually completed over a number of weeks/months. Earning all of the challenge badges will award the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award, the highest award a Beaver Scout can earn.
